My life-long obsession with the night sky means that, these days, I can often be found wondering around the forest after dusk with my torch and my trusty pup, trying to find the perfect spot to sit and watch the moon rise. I absolutely love it, it’s one of my all-time favourite things to do. The soft glow of the moon fills me with a sense of wonder and magic that seems to have an incredibly grounding influence on my life. 
 
This beautifully unique pendant was handcrafted in mid-May when the night sky above the Forest of Dean was illuminated by one of the most awesome Flower Moons I’ve ever seen. This quirky little chap is my tribute to that beautiful, late-spring moon and the calmness it brought to my world. It is my hope that it serves as a little talisman to its wearer, allowing them to carry the calming magic of the moon with them wherever they go and reminding them to pause and take the time to gaze up at the wonder of the awesome night sky every once in a while.

  • Item Details

    The main body of this quirky little pendant is a circular shadow box that measures approx. 19.6mm wide by 21.3mm high at it widest points.

    The base of the box is made from 1mm thick recycled sterling silver sheet and the sides are made from a mixture of 1.5mm thick recycled sterling silver wire, 3x little handmade sterling silver granulation balls that measure approx. 4.7mm wide by 3mm high, and 2x little stars that are made from 3.5mm Cubic Zirconia’s set in recycled sterling silver tube that measures approx. 4mm wide by 4.5mm high.

    Right in the centre of the shadow box is the moon, this is a high quality 10mm round Rainbow Moonstone cabochon in a fine silver bezel setting. This beautiful stone has the most amazing blue flash when light catches it surface. The bezel setting has been polished to a high shine to give the appearance of a silver halo around the moon.

    The inside of the shadow box has been blackened with a patina solution to resemble the night sky. It has been gently polished around the stone setting to lighten the patina in this area and give the appearance of moon rings around the stone.

    The back of the shadow box has been polished to a high shine and has a small brass crescent moon in its centre that measures approx. 4.5mm wide by 8.4 mm high at its thickest points.

    The pendent attaches to a necklace via 2 handmade sterling silver jump rings that sit on a larger 0.8mm wide sterling silver half ring that has been soldered to the back of the pendant.

    The total length of this pendant from the top of the jump rings to the bottom of the shadow box is approx. 32mm.

    The pendant comes with a 16inch long, 1.5mm thick, sterling silver snake chain.

    The weight of the pendant is 7.4g. The total weight of this item, including the chain is 12g.

    For insurance purposes all items are shipped via Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed within the UK, and Royal Mail International Tracked and Signed to the rest of the world.

    I do not currently dispatch as standard to EU countries due to the customs and paperwork/hallmarking complications created by Brexit.   • Caring For Your Jewellery

    Sterling silver can easily tarnish over time, especially handmade and artisan items that are typically not plated or lacquered in the way that most commercial jewellery is.

    To keep your jewellery looking great for years to come remember to remove it before exercising, swimming, bathing, showering or when completing tasks where it could get knocked or damaged.

    Do not allow your jewellery to come into contact with harsh chemicals, hand sanitisers, perfumes and lotions (It’s always best to put your jewellery on last while getting dressed). And store your item in the jewellery bag provided when it is not being worn.
